Açu quadruplica capacidade de armazenagem coberta e dobra área alfandegada
O Porto do Açu inaugurou nesta quarta-feira (08) mais um armazém do Terminal Multicargas (Tmult), o segundo a entrar em operação. Na fase atual da expansão do terminal, serão inaugurados dois novos galpões cobertos, totalizando três armazéns, que aumentarão em quatro vezes a capacidade estática de armazenamento para 110 mil toneladas e dobrarão a área alfandegada do terminal para 360 mil m². Estiveram presentes no evento o CEO da holding Prumo, Rogério Zampronha; o CEO do Porto do Açu, José Firmo; e o Diretor Financeiro da Lundin Mining Brasil, Jean Cintra.
O novo armazém, com área de 6.800m², entrou em operação nesta quarta. Com capacidade estática aproximada de 45.000 toneladas, irá atender as operações de exportação de cobre de Goiás, um mineral estratégico para apoiar a transição energética. O armazém foi implantado em parceria com a Lundin Mining Brasil e as operações de cobre também otimizarão os custos logísticos de importação de carga, pois balancearão o fluxo exportação-importação para Goiás.
Ainda no primeiro semestre de 2023, será inaugurado o segundo novo armazém, que terá área de 7.600m² e capacidade estática aproximada de 40.000 toneladas. Este viabilizará a movimentação de cargas diversas, como granéis minerais e agrícolas, fertilizantes, produtos siderúrgicos, entre outros.
— Com o armazém, o Tmult atende principalmente aos mercados de Minas Gerais, Goiás e Espírito Santo, contribuindo de forma relevante para o suprimento nacional de fertilizantes. Em 2020, colocamos o Rio de Janeiro no mapa do agronegócio nacional e, desde então, estamos nos consolidando como player competitivo para o setor, com tempo de espera para atracação dos clientes muito menor do que a média dos demais portos do país. Para alavancar o desenvolvimento pavimentado pela expectativa de crescimento do agro brasileiro (3% a 5% ao ano até 2030), o Terminal Multicargas já havia realizado expansões recentes na sua infraestrutura. A primeira tinha sido o armazém coberto para cargas especiais com 25.000 toneladas de capacidade estática, expansão que viabilizou ao Porto do Açu realizar as primeiras importações de fertilizantes. Em andamento, houve ainda a construção de pátio em parceria com a Minas Gusa, uma nova área para armazenagem de granéis sólidos: a estrutura, com área de 35 mil m², tem foco na importação de combustíveis sólidos para as indústrias siderúrgica e cimenteira.
Além disso, por conta da disponibilidade de área e flexibilidade do Açu, o Tmult ainda tem potencial para expansões futuras, como extensão do berço e aumento de pátio e áreas de armazenagem.
