Generally, you’ll know demagnetization is worth a shot if your watch has suddenly started running quickly or has recently become very erratic in terms of the length of the power reserve and the watch’s accuracy over that period of time. That said, if you’re more curious or feel the need for confirmation, there are ways to test to see if your watch is magnetized.
I did some digging around the Internet to read live reactions to the watch upon link its release at Baselworld. Reviews seemed to range from surprise to tepid acceptance. As the months and years went on, some people were surprised to learn that the Hulk was slowly becoming possibly the most popular Rolex sports watch. We never really know what we have until it’s gone, which is why I write this as something of a Hulk appreciation post, a long overdue postmortem on the watch.
This morning, TAG Heuer released the new Carrera Green Special Edition. It’s a vintage-inspired, limited edition teal timepiece paying homage to the brand’s chronograph-making heritage. This comes just one month after TAG released a different green watch: The Monaco Green Dial in celebration of the Gran Prix De Monaco Historique.
Six years later and Trilobe has officially arrived, exhibiting everywhere, including Watches & Wonders and Geneva Watch Days, earning nominations from the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève Academy, and offering no less than three different collections, all built around the same eccentric three-ringed time display.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen something questionable enough to warrant a Buyer Beware feature. While a juicy bit of pseudo controversy can be exciting, it’s ultimately a good thing that nothing all that alarming has been about, as of late. If you enjoy a cautionary tale, you’re in luck, as a real ugly duckling is coming up in a Monte Carlo auction next month.
