Carla Machado pede criação de Frente Parlamentar de Defesa dos Direitos da Pessoa com Autismo
Em pleno Abril Azul, mês de conscientização sobre o autismo, cujo dia mundial foi lembrado no último domingo (2), uma nova esperança para as milhares de famílias que convivem com o Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA). O Estado do Rio de Janeiro pode contar com uma Frente Parlamentar de Defesa dos Direitos da Pessoa com Autismo. O requerimento para criação do colegiado foi protocolado nesta terça-feira (4) pela deputada estadual Carla Machado (PT) junto à Mesa Diretora da Assembleia Legislativa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Alerj).
— No Brasil não há dados oficiais sobre a prevalência do autismo. Mas a Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) estima que 1% da população tenha o Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA). Ou seja, só no Brasil são cerca de 2 milhões de autistas. No Estado do Rio de Janeiro, a projeção é de 160 mil pessoas vivendo com autismo, uma condição cuja incidência vem aumentando nos últimos anos. Mas, infelizmente, muitas famílias sofrem com a falta de apoio para oferecer o melhor acompanhamento a essas pessoas, especialmente na rede pública de saúde — disse a deputada.
A proposta é garantir, no Estado do Rio de Janeiro, o atendimento pleno à Lei Federal nº 12.764/2012, que instituiu a Política Nacional de Proteção dos Direitos da Pessoa com Transtorno do Espectro Autista. A legislação prevê que toda criança (até 12 anos incompletos) e adolescente (entre 12 e 18 anos de idade) tem direito ao desenvolvimento físico, mental, moral, espiritual e social, em condições de liberdade e de dignidade. A pessoa com TEA deve ter acesso a serviços de saúde, educação, ensino profissionalizante, moradia, mercado de trabalho e previdência e assistência social.
Sobre o autismo
O Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) é uma condição de saúde que compromete três áreas do desenvolvimento: interação social, comportamento e comunicação. A pessoa com autismo encontra dificuldades de domínio da linguagem, socialização e desenvolve comportamentos restritivos e repetitivos, além de alteração nos estímulos sensoriais.
O Dia Mundial de Conscientização do Autismo (2/4) foi oficializado em 2007 pela Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) e instituído em 2018 no Brasil. A partir disso, foi criada também a campanha Abril Azul, para fomentar ao longo de todo o mês ações de apoio à causa ao redor do mundo. Neste ano, o tema da campanha nacional de conscientização do autismo é “Mais informação, menos preconceito”.
